Terms of Service — Barakat AI

1. Acceptance

By using Barakat AI ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please do not use the Service. Operator: Leimo AI Technologies FZ-LLC, UAE.

2. Service description

Barakat AI is a personal finance tracking app with AI-assisted features (receipt parsing, transaction categorization, financial insights). Islamic finance features (Zakat calculator, halal/haram categorization, Hijri calendar) are optional and disabled by default.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old. In some jurisdictions, the minimum age is higher; you confirm you meet local age requirements.

4. Account responsibilities

• You are responsible for keeping your password secure
• You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

5. Subscription & payments

• Barakat PRO is linked to your account. To buy it you must be signed in (guest mode cannot purchase); after you sign in on another device with the same account, PRO is available there too.
• How PRO is sold depends on where you got the app:
  • App Store (iOS): in-app subscription through Apple. Manage or cancel: iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple.
  • Google Play (Android): in-app subscription through Google Play. Manage or cancel: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Google.
  • RuStore (Android, Russia): payment through YooKassa for 30 or 365 days. These payments do not renew automatically; access ends at the end of the paid period unless you pay again.
  • Website (barakatai.su): card payment through Stripe (monthly or yearly subscription that renews automatically, or a one-time lifetime purchase where offered) or through YooKassa in Russia (30 or 365 days, no automatic renewal). A Stripe subscription can be cancelled at any time in the app or on the website: Settings → Help → "Manage subscription" (Stripe customer portal). After cancellation, access remains until the end of the paid period.
• Prices are shown before payment. In the mobile stores prices are in local currency, set by the platform.
• Auto-renewal: App Store, Google Play and Stripe subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends (Stripe: before the renewal date).
• Refunds: App Store and Google Play purchases — under the store's policy. Website payments (Stripe, YooKassa) — write to support@barakatai.su; requests are handled in accordance with applicable consumer law. A refunded or charged-back payment ends the PRO access it provided.
• Family: the owner of a family circle with an active paid PRO shares it with up to 5 family members (up to 6 people in total) for the same period. Referral bonus days and tester access are not shared.
• Free trial: if offered, cancelling before end of trial = no charge

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the Service
• Use the Service for illegal activities
• Spam BRK referral codes or create fake accounts to abuse rewards
• Bypass platform IAP (Apple/Google policy violations)
• Upload illegal content via receipt scans

7. AI features

• AI-generated insights are guidance only, not professional financial advice
• Zakat calculations are based on commonly accepted parameters and your inputs — verify with a qualified scholar for important decisions
• Halal/haram categorization is informational, based on user-provided category mapping
• We do not guarantee AI accuracy

8. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is". We don't warrant the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI suggestions will be accurate. Financial decisions remain your responsibility.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Leimo AI Technologies FZ-LLC and its affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service. Total liability capped at amounts paid by you in the last 12 months (typically the subscription price).

11. Termination

• You can delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete Account)
• We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms
• Upon termination, your data is deleted within 30 days

12. Changes

We may update these Terms; changes take effect when posted. Material changes will be notified in-app.

13. Governing law

UAE law governs these Terms. Disputes resolved in RAK courts. EU/UK users retain protections under local consumer law.
